Pregnant? Here is how to protect yourself from mosquitoes that is safe for you and your baby

I will not discuss on what is Dengue Fever its stages and symptoms but if you want to know about it visit this blog post. What I would like to tell you is how to protect yourself from mosquito bites when you are pregnant.

Remember pregnancy is a very delicate condition. Insect sprays containing harsh chemicals especially DEET are not allowed to be used during pregnancy. Even insect repelling lotions and Citronella oils applied on skin are not allowed.

SO HOW CAN YOU PROTECT YOURSELF FROM MOSQUITO BITES ?

1. Citronella Bracelets- Citronella products are basically safe in pregnancy for as long as you don't apply it directly in your skin.



2. Citronella Candles- Citronella as candles or as oil in a lamp burner is another way to repel mosquitoes without worrying citronella being absorbed by the skin.



3. Citronella Stickers- stickers that others use on their wrist but for pregnant women I advise that it be placed on clothing that you wear.




4. Citronella Plant- a good ornament inside the house with a purpose of repelling mosquitos







HERE are plants that repel mosquitos:
1. Citronella Grass- is, of course, where companies get the citronella oil. This oil is put in candles and lanterns that can be burned in your yard to repel mosquitoes. 
2. Catnip-an herb that is has actually been found to be more than ten times better at repelling mosquitoes than DEET. 


3. Rosemary-usually used in cooking but this garden herb also repels mosquitoes. You can, grow rosemary in a pot.

4. Marigold- have a particular smell that many insects and humans find objectionable. They are a good plant for repelling mosquitoes. 

5. Mosquito Plant- Pelargonium citrosum available in the market.

Surrounding yourself with plants is not only relaxing but also therapeutic. It is safe than spraying insecticides inside your homes. Of course you should know the basics, do not store stagnant water in the backyard that allows breeding of mosquitos.

These are just preventive measures. If you already have symptoms visit your doctor.

    Who would have believed herbal medicine could cure FIBROID? I suffered fibroid for a long time and getting pregnant was a problem, I had pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding even hospital could not help.
